Are your thoughts healthy? Let your present circumstances be your guide, as we all need to take responsibility for our life and our body as it is today.

YOUR STORY:

In the eastern tradition the thousand-petal lotus, which represents enlightenment, grows out of the muck and mire.

The Belgian physicist Ilya Prigogine won the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1977.  Through his work in dissipative structures, he taught us that we grow in direct proportion to the amount of chaos we can sustain and dissipate.  When your system (body/mind/spirit) is in chaos it has two choices;  It either disintegrates and dies or jumps to a new level of capability and capacity - breakdown or breakthrough.

I am humbled and inspired on a daily basis by the wonderful people I meet and their stories of courage and determination.  Life sometimes throws lemons in our pathway.  It is up to us to make lemonade with them.  We can't always control the circumstances in our life as they are now, but we can control our reaction to them.  I believe that it helps us all to "keep going" if we are inspired by hearing about other ordinary people (just like you and I) who have tried and persisted and eventually succeeded.  If they can do it so can I.  We really do need regular doses of inspiration and motivation.

I so often hear about ordinary people achieving really extrordinary results and the way that "fate" intervenes to assist is also amazing.  I don't believe in coincidence.  Carl Jung, who was regarded by many as the father of the modern day approaches to phsycotherapy, termed this "synchronicity".  He saw time and time again that when someone was totally committed and focused on a course of action then all sorts of "lucky breaks" would often come their way to help them succeed.  Do I believe in miracles ......?  You bet!! But I do believe that you have to give God (or the Universe... whatever touches your heart) something to work with.  God needs to work "through you" not "for you". You have to make a start with the resources that you have, then focus and commit.

I would like to invite readers to email me your story.  Don't worry that it's not special enough or good enough.  If you've had some sort of success in life and it has really meant something to you, let me know so that I can share it with others.  As I said, we want to hear about ordinary people and their successes.  Maybe you have lost a significant amount of weight, maybe you've overcome a health issue...... if you've succeeded at something - well done!! We'd love to hear about it!
